On October 23, 2025, Prof. Nicholas Brown presented an end-of-year tax planning webinar for beef and dairy producers in conjunction with NC Cattleman's and NC Dairy Producers.
The webinar covered a wide variety of topics, including the latest changes from the Big, Beautiful Bill. Farmers and others involved in the agricultural and extension communities are encouraged to watch this free webinar to learn about changes to the standard deduction, charitable giving, and other common deductions. Other discussion topics include changes to common depreciation techniques such as Section 179 and bonus depreciation. The presentation also encompasses changes to the estate tax exemption.
Prof. Brown also covers tax strategies for farmers, such as employing your own children and farm succession plans.
