Nicholas Brown, a contributor to Farm Law & Tax, recently published an article in the NC State Economist.  The article covered the in's and out's of the dicamba situation in 2025 which has left farmers without one of the most widely used herbicides for the first time in a decade.  The NC State Economist is an extension-based periodical designed to give farmers and other interested groups in North Carolina insight into complex issues that affect agriculture.

In the article, Brown discusses the circumstances that led up to the need for dicamba and how the first commercially available post-emergent dicamba herbicides quickly ran into legal hurdles related to drift.  The article also provides resources on alternatives to dicamba for farmers in 2025 and how dicamba use may be limited beyond just the 2025 planting season.
